Lead Early Years/Childcare Practitioner; £8.50 to £8.64 per hour; 20 hours per week; term-time only

First Steps is looking for a dynamic, motivated Lead Early Years Practitioner to lead the children’s centre childcare sessions. First Steps Children’s Centre have been successfully running a 2-year old early years provision for over a year in the mornings at the centre’s Kings Meadow site in Ainsdale, and is looking to expand this to afternoon provision.

The aim of the post is to lead childcare sessions in the two-year-old offer setting, delivering high quality early years care in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, promoting child interaction and the development of the child.

The position is predominately based in First Steps Children’s Centre at the Kings Meadow Primary School site.  It is over five afternoons per week.  Some flexibility will be required.  A level 3 qualification or equivalent in childcare/early years is essential, as is at least one year’s post-qualification experience working with children.  An enhanced DBS will be undertaken.

Pay is £8.50 rising to £8.64 per hour.  20 hours per week over 5 afternoons. The post at present is fixed-term from 18th April 2017 (or as soon after as possible) to August 2017, and is term-time only.  Please match your skills and experience to the person specification on your application form.
