Footprints Hatton Hill, Litherland Nursery
Children and families are at the heart of all we do.
For children’s First Steps in life away from home, at fooprints@hatton nursery in Litherland, and as part of the Hatton Hill Partnership, we are passionate about offering a homely, secure and nurturing environment with care and support from experienced practitioners who share our values and beliefs of improving children’s life chances by providing them with rich experiences and opportunities to play, laugh and learn and to make valuable, often lifelong friendships.

First Steps recognise that only when children feel physically and emotionally happy and secure, can they be ready to explore and learn about the big world around them.

In our Footprints childcare settings, First Steps encourages children to explore, be inquisitive, to learn and have fun. We delight in children’s achievements, no matter how small a step.
We empower children to give it a go, to keep on trying, to believe in themselves.
Our nursery recognises the strong sense of community that our families feel, and we value our relationships with parents.
First Steps Enterprise Limited is committed to creating a diverse environment in its Footprints settings and is proud to be an equal opportunity organisation. We welcome and encourage children and families from all backgrounds. All places in Footprints settings are offered without regards to race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, or age.
Nursery Rooms
Little Buds Baby Room
Up to 18 Months

Our Little Buds Baby Room is specifically designed to meet the needs of babies up to the age of 18 months*. The warm and cosy natural environment provides a safe, secure, and well supported space for your special little one. This includes homely sleeping areas, floor space to encourage mobility not to mention some superb activities to stimulate and develop all of the senses.
Our experienced and dedicated baby room practitioners will work closely with parents to support the individual needs of both child and family. We will support the child’s individual feeding and sleeping routines and provide daily feedback about your child’s day.
The self-contained baby room also has the benefit of its own kitchen area. The room contains a variety of amenities to help to ensure we have everything on hand to meet your baby’s needs.
The children will share the benefits of our lovely outdoor play space which houses a dedicated area to safely support the needs of the children with time spent daily enjoying the fresh air.
Seedlings Toddler Room
18 months to 3 Years

Our homely nursery room offers a nurturing, stimulating and safe environment where children can interact with all their peers and build strong, supportive relationships with key adults. Children will learn through rich experiences in their play and interactions with others. Children will learn at their own pace and stage of development and adults will ensure that learning is fully embedded before moving on to their next milestones. We recognise that learning is not linear and that children do not all follow the same patterns at the same time.
During children’s time as a Seedling, they will have a 2 year progress review. This is usually carried out at around 30 months of age and will assess the child’s individual progress against a set of developmental milestones. This is not to test the children or make comparisons to others, but is to simply inform the child’s key person how the child is developing and to assist them in planning the child’s unique next steps.
Our home corner, small world and creative and book areas provide a good basis to practice language and communication skills and provide plenty of opportunities for learning social skills through interactive play.
Pre-School Room Age 3 to 5
In the term after your child’s third birthday, s/he would move into the pre-school room as part of the Hatton Hill Childcare Partnership with Hatton Hill Primary School, which is integral in helping your child be ready for school. For more details, please visit the school page here.
