Family Link Worker £20,344 per annum/35 hours/fixed term initially to 31st March 2020.

We are looking for a committed, pro-active Family Link Worker with an Early Help Focus, who is committed and dedicated to improving children’s life chances
The position of Family Link Worker is a diverse role where no two days are the same. If you enjoy being exceptionally busy, working in a thriving and stimulating environment whilst gaining a great deal of job satisfaction you will enjoy the role of Family Link Worker.
The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality support to Children aged 0-5years and their Families. The support provided will need a whole family approach and will be available to families in need of Early Help (Level 2 and 3 – see Liverpool’s Responding to Need Guidance and Levels of Need Framework).
The purpose of the support is to prevent needs escalating and to enable families to develop their own strategies to cope well and prevent a re-escalation of concern, and enable families to become more able to self-support.
Family Link Workers provide direct support to children and their families facing a range of difficulties. With the family and partner agencies you will develop individual targeted plans of intervention in accordance with the needs and voice of the child and their family as part of the Early Help Assessment process.
You will continue this support in the family home, helping parents to strengthen the skills they have already and promote a safe, nurturing environment at home through direct work with Parents/carers and the child.
The role also will include developing and delivering Early learning sessions for families with children under five years, using your skills and abilities to implement EYFS assessment framework to ensure children make good progress in their development.
Yu will also support the Children Centre Service Co-ordinator/Manager and Children Centre Team in delivering high quality Universal Early Learning Services to support children and their families and to Champion the School Readiness Agenda.
It is challenging and vital role within the children’s centre. It has many aspects, but has three key focuses:
1. Supporting families in the centre reach area, including Family Support (Early Help) and partnership with other agencies
2. School Readiness Agenda. Working with Children aged 0-5 years, Parents & partners to support Children’s learning, development & wellbeing in preparation for Nursery & school.
3. Facilitating evidence based Parenting Programmes – enabling Parents to focus on strengthening parenting competencies and fostering parent involvement to support and enhance their child’s holistic development, health & wellbeing.
The successful applicants will have a level 3 a early years/childcare-related/Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent, and meet the person specification. An enhanced DBS will be undertaken. The posts are based in West Derby/Tuebrook/Yew Tree Children’s Centre, Liverpool.
