footprints@netherton is very pleased to have received a postive report card in its most recent Ofsted Inspection!

Nursery Manager Jackie Murray tells us more! ‘We are absolutely delighted with our recent ofsted inspectionThis reflects the hard work, dedication and care shown by our whole team every day and the wonderful children and families who are part of our setting.  Thank you for your continued support – we are very proud of what we achieve together.’

Looking at children’s well being and welfare, ‘the report says ‘Care practices are extremely consistent for children as staff understand children’s individual needs so well. Children’s wellbeing is always considered. Children are supported to recognise, express and manage their emotions, and they develop a secure sense of emotional wellbeing.‘  Then moving onto Inclusion,  the report reads ‘Staff are superb at adapting the curriculum and making reasonable adjustments to support children’s individual needs. Staff constantly review the impact of any strategies to ensure that they are having the maximum impact on children’s welfare, learning and development.’

The full report of the inspection, which took place on 14th Janauy 2026 can be found here – footprints@netherton inspection Jan 2026.  The nursery’s summary scorecard reads as follows:

The new Inspection report score card is very different to the old Ofsted grades.  Ofsted say that the expected standard ‘is what we think every childcare provider, school and college should be doing.  We expect a lot for this grade, as it is what every child should be getting.’  The strong standard ‘is a higher grade than the expected standard.  Ofsted state this means the childcare, school or college has been doing excellent work for a long time (and is) making a real difference to children’.  For more information on the new grades, please see this guide here

At footprints@netherton, we were very proud that two areas, ‘Children’s Welfare and Well Being’ and ‘Inclusion’ were graded as ‘strong’ and the other four areas as ‘expected’.  Company Deputy Manager, Sarah Mercer, elaborates further:

‘I am incredibly proud of our Footprints@Netherton Nursery team following our recent Ofsted inspection. We are delighted with the outcome of the report, which truly reflects our strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and putting children at the heart of everything we do. Most importantly, it celebrates the dedication, care and passion our staff show every day in supporting our children and families. I feel very privileged to be part of such a nurturing and committed team.’

The conclusion of the report reads: ‘Every child is valued for their individuality and uniqueness. Children are praised as they attempt to ride a bike for the first time, remember learning from yesterday and use words such as ‘roll’ as they play with the dough. This high-quality support enables children to attempt new things, build their resilience and develop high levels of confidence. This setting helps children to thrive and flourish.’  A very positive report card!
