Early Years Practitioner – 1-to-1 Support focus – £20,812 per annum PRO-RATA (£11.08 per hour plus leave allowance); 15 hours per week term-time; initially fixed-term to 31st August 2023 or until funding ceases
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Practitioner, providing 1to1 support to children with additional needs. .
Farnborough Road Infants School in Birkdale, Southport is looking for a dedicated person to deliver high quality childcare for the school’s 2-year-old childcare provision offer, Caterpillars, with an emphasis on delivering some one-to-one support for a child with additional needs. An early years/childcare qualification at level 2 (or 3) will be required.
.The post is to start as soon as possible.
The successful candidates would be:
- To deliver high-quality support for a child with additional needs in the setting’s two-year-old Caterpillars nursery
- To deliver high quality childcare in the on-site nursery as part of the schools 2-year-old childcare provision offer, promoting parent & child interaction and the development of the child.

It is important that the appointed person complements the school’s existing highly professional team. Although the post is a 1:1 support position at times they may be required to work in any of our classes to support the education of individual pupils or groups of children. Applicants should be appropriately qualified and have relevant skills and experience.
The successful candidate should have at least a level 2 Early Years or equivalent qualification, have a good experience working in a school environment, ideally in the Early Years, and a good understanding and knowledge of SEN/Disability and how to assist children requiring 1to1 support.
Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), plus two references, and right to work in the United Kingdom.
