Welfare Assistant in Sefton
Salary: £12.60 plus leave allowance added onto pay
Hours: 1.25 to 1.5 hours per day, term-time only (from 11:45 till 13:15) -Monday to Friday

The role might involve supporting Nursery and Reception or Primary aged children during the lunchtime period each day.
Welfare Assistant Duties
- Manage the dinner queue;
- Supervise pupils eating their dinners;
- Prevent them from taking food outside the dining area;
- Manage the behaviour of pupils while they eat their meals;
- Keep pupils out of classrooms when they should be outside;
- Check that groups of pupils are away from place they should not in (such as toilets);
- Manage the behaviour of pupils in the playground;
- Deal with accidents in the playground or dining area;
- Keep young pupils occupied when they have to stay indoor
- Be fully aware of safeguarding policies and adhere to them
- Liaise with class teachers and other professionals in the school
You do not need a qualification. We are looking for someone with a passion to support children in a caring and effective manner, common sense and able to manage groups of children at lunchtime. We will undertake a DBS and other checks, and any offer is dependent on this.

Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), plus two references, and right to work in the United Kingdom.
