Based in Caterpillars two-year-old nursery room in Farnborough Road Infant School, Birkdale, Southport

Lead/Level 3: £9.74 per hour plus leave allowance; 20 hours per week / term-time only / 8.30am to 12.30pm
To commence 24th February or as soon after this as possible

Additional Level 2 hours from June 2020: £9.25 per hours, plus leave allowance (maternity cover*);
15 per week/term-time only / 1pm to 4pm

This is an exciting opportunity to become one of the Lead Workers (with additional Level 2 hours from June 2020) in Caterpillars, the two-year nursery room in Farnborough Road Infants School in Birkdale, Southport.

The School has been successfully running a 2-year old Nursery provision, Caterpillars, for nearly five years. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated professional to lead the setting’s morning Nursery sessions. From June 2020, we are looking for the successful applicant to be a Level 2/Assistant in the afternoon sessions.

The aim of the post is to lead the morning Nursery sessions in the two-year-old offer setting, delivering high quality early years’ care in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, promoting parent & child interaction and the development of the child.

The successful applicant will work with the school’s Headteacher and Early Years Leader to ensure compliance with all regulations and recommendations determined by OFSTED via the Early Years Foundation Stage and Every Child Matters in matters relating to the required standards, inspection and other associated issues.

S/he will hold at least a Level 3/equivalent in a childcare/early years qualification, and have good experience working with children aged 2-3. The successful applicant will be committed to quality early years care, be a good team player and have very good communication skills. An enhanced DBS and other checks will be undertaken

* the overall position currently ends on 31st August 2020. If an extension is granted, the Lead /Level 3 hours continue until the end of the full contract extension; the additional level 2 maternity cover hours would end when the maternity cover ends, which could be between December 2020 and June 2021.
