Activities Worker – Fountains Children’s Centre
Salary: £13.80 per hour (£19,788 actual annual salary)
Hours: 27.5 hours – Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (30-minute unpaid lunch break each day)
Contract: 2 months initially – September start

We have an exciting opportunity for an Activities Worker to join our friendly Children’s Centre team. This is a rewarding role where you’ll help deliver engaging activities and create positive experiences for children aged 0–5 and their families.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the Family Link Worker to deliver fun and engaging children’s centre sessions.
- Help run activities such as Stay & Play, Messy Play, Rhyme Time and other early years groups.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for children, parents and carers.
- Set up and prepare activity spaces and resources.
- Support children’s learning and development through play.
- Encourage families to participate and access children’s centre services.
- Work collaboratively with the wider children’s centre team.
Please note: this role does not involve case work.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable individual who enjoys working with children and families.
Essential Criteria:
- A minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification Early Years Practitioner qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working with children aged 0–5.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive and flexible approach to work.
- An enhanced DBS will be undertaken.
Desirable Criteria:
- Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Experience supporting group activities within a nursery, school, community or children’s centre setting.
