If two persons are appointed, the Activities Worker position will be 15 hours per week (£7,734 actual) and the Early Help Worker £15,594 actual, both as headline above

First Steps Family Wellbeing Centre, based in Ainsdale and Birkdale in Southport, Merseyside, is looking for either one or two enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking individual (s) to work in the centre as soon as possible:

Early Help Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the First Steps Family Wellbeing Team in Ainsdale and Birkdale, Southport.  The role involves delivering high quality services and support to children and families facing a range of difficulties in need of Early Help or who are identified as needing continuing support after having been involved with statutory social work services.

This role involves the completion of Early Help assessments, direct work with children and coordinating Early Help meetings to ensure that there are clear plans in place to improve the outcomes for children and young people (0-19 years). Experience of completing assessments, using EHM (Early Help Module), multi-agency working, delivering high quality interventions and direct work with children is essential to this role.

The role will also involve the delivery of activities through the appropriate models and frameworks to engage, empower and enable families within our reach to take ownership of their own solutions and develop resilience.

This will likely be over three days but may change according to circumstances.

Activities Worker

The aim of this role is

  • To support and deliver family & child activities (such as Rhyme Time, Stay and Play, Messy Play, Baby massage, baby weighing, physical activity sessions, Early Years Workshops, Early Support and others), which provide childcare, education, health and family support.
  • To work as part of the Family Wellbeing Centre team to deliver high quality early years services for children and families

This will likely be over two days but may change according to circumstances.

Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), plus two references, and right to work in the United Kingdom.
