Teaching Assistants TA2 – Lydiate Primary School (term-time)

£21,575 pro-rata; contract initially one year from 4th September 2023

  • Vacancies 1 to 4: 32.5 hours per week – 1to1 Support
  • Vacancy 5: 30 hours per week – general TA

An exciting opportunity has arisen for five committed and passionate individuals to join an ambitious good school, Lydiate Primary School. We would like to appoint five experienced, enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistants.  Four will work 1:1 , each with a child with additional needs within Key Stage 1/Reception. The fifth candidate will a general TA. The right candidates will be:

  • Committed to raising standards, ensuring children achieve their full potential in acquiring the essential skills needed within the EYFS.
  • Adaptable and able to work on their own initiative.
  • Able to support pupils who have special needs, especially Complex Needs, ASD and speech & language difficulties.

It is important that the appointed person complements our existing highly professional team. Although four of the posts are 1:1 support positions, at times they may be required to work in any of our classes to support the education of individual pupils or groups of children. Applicants should be appropriately qualified and have relevant skills and experience.

Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), plus two references, and right to work in the United Kingdom.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 32.5 hours for the four 1to1 positions; 30 hours per week for the general TA position.  Half-an-hour lunch unpaid not included in these hours.
