An exciting opportunity has arisen in Lydiate Primary School in Sefton, Merseyside, to be part of a dynamic and ambitious team working towards the Early Years Quality Mark.

The school is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking Teaching Assistant Level 3, with strong Early Years Foundation stage experience, to work in the school nursery. The post is to start on 1st September 2021.

The purpose of the post is to work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction/instruction of teaching and/or senior staff in the school nursery class, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all pupils and assistance and support in nursery classroom management and behaviour techniques and providing specialist support in a specific curricula/resource area.

It is essential that the candidate has excellent literacy and numeracy skills, and strong experience of working within the Early Years Foundation Stage. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.  A Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification or Level 3 in an Early Years qualification is essential.

Tasks will include supporting the class teacher to ensure learning is maximised and the specific needs of nursery pupils

Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), plus two references, and right to work in the United Kingdom.

The position is term-time over 38.4 weeks within the timeframe of 1st September 2021 to 31st August 2022.

Hours: Monday – Friday. 8.45am – 12.45pm and 1.15pm – 3.30pm (30 min lunch).
