Outreach & Activities Worker; -16-21 hours per week*; £18,562 pro-rata; fixed-term until 31st March 2022
We are looking for a dynamic and committed Outreach & Activities Worker, based in Picton and Kensington Children’s Centre in Liverpool, Merseyside. A short 60 second video is here:
The successful candidate will work to increase by an agreed % of families registered within the reach area and to increase the agreed % actively participating in centre services in line with the Children’s Centre targets and with government aims to reduce the gap in outcomes between deprived families and the rest of the population. S/he will also work to help improve EYFS outcomes by persuading reach area families to take up services which meet and address families’ specific needs (with a focus on the most vulnerable families).
As services gradually re-start (subject to covid 19), the successful candidate will also be required to support and deliver family & child activities (such as Rhyme Time, Stay and Play, Messy Play, Baby massage, baby weighing, physical activity sessions, Early Years Workshops, Early Support and others), which provide childcare, education, health and family support
The successful candidate will be required to hold at least a level 2/equivalent qualification, have experience of, or demonstrate the ability, to deliver outreach services which encourages people to access services, be a people person and able to actively promote the centre and its services. Being strongly motivated is essential. An enhanced DBS will be undertaken. The role is based in Picton and Kensington Children’s Centre.

Pro-rata on 16 hours actual is £8,485 per annum; 21 hours actual is £11,137 per annum.
