A number of changes will take place in line of changing government guideline when footprints@ netherton nursey returns in September 2020 following the end of this term on 17th July 2020.
From all the staff at footprints@ netherton nursery and First Steps Enterprise, we would firstly like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to you all for your continued support and flexibility throughout this unprecedented period.
As we break up for the summer, our teams are working hard on preparing for a full return in September. Following new government guidance, which sets out a change to the protective measures in early years settings that will be effective from 20 July, removing the requirement to keep children in small consistent groups within settings but still minimising mixing where possible, we will be adopting the following measures in our nursery.
• We will maintain 2 nursery bubbles across our two rooms; Rainforest 1 will form 1 bubble and Rainforest 2 will form another bubble.
• Children attending afternoon sessions in Rainforest 1 & 2 will join for the final half an hour at the end of the session and will be dismissed from Rainforest 1 door.
• We will maintain that no visitors or parent/carers other than key professionals, are permitted to enter the nursery rooms during sessions.
• Children and staff will continue to be encouraged to wash their hands regularly throughout the session and the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach will continue, to maintain good hygiene practice.
• An enhanced cleaning regime of the nursery rooms will be maintained
• We will continue to ask that objects and toys from home are not brought into nursery apart from nappies, wipes and a spare change of clothes.
• We will continue to ask that only 1 parent/carer from each household enters the nursery premises on arrival and collection and that a social distance of 1 meter + is maintained around other families and staff.

All families will be contacted by nursery by Friday 17th July to advise them of the nursery sessions which they have been allocated for their children in September. In most cases, this will be what your original pattern was prior to Covid.

To those children that will be leaving us and moving on to ‘big school’, we wish you the very best of luck. Your new school will be very lucky to have you! To everyone else, we wish you all a happy and safe summer holiday and look forward to welcoming you back into nursery from Monday 7th September.
