Early Years Practitioner (Level 2); £18,545 pro-rata (actual £8,318 per annum)
Based in Caterpillars two-year-old nursery room in Farnborough Road Infant School, Birkdale, Southport
20 hours per week / term-time only / 12noon to 4pm
To commence as soon as possible in February 2022. Initially to 31st August 2022 (extension likely, subject to funding)
This is an exciting opportunity to become an Early Years Practitioner in Caterpillars, the two-year nursery room in Farnborough Road Infants School in Birkdale, Southport.
The School has been successfully running a 2-year old Nursery provision, Caterpillars, for seven years. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated professional to work in the setting’s afternoon 2-year-old nursery sessions.
The aim of the post is to deliver high quality childcare in the on-site nursery as part of the schools 2-year-old childcare provision offer, promoting parent & child interaction and the development of the child.
The successful applicant will:
- ensure the individualised support enables the child to benefit from the highest possible integration in the setting, and that development and learning opportunities are maximized.
- be part of the team delivering high quality early years/childcare in the on-site nursery as part of the school’s 2-year-old childcare provision offer, promoting parent & child interaction and the development of the child, in line with Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Standards
The successful applicant will hold at least a Level 2/equivalent in a childcare/early years qualification, and have good experience working with children aged 2-3. The successful applicant will be committed to quality early years care, be a good team player and have very good communication skills. An enhanced DBS and other checks will be undertaken,
Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), plus two references, and right to work in the United Kingdom.
