Some exciting news from our footprints@hattonhill nursery! The nursery will be expanding to take children from birth upwards from January 2022 and will become all year as well. Nursery Manager Kate Hesketh explains how this will happen. ‘We are really enthusiastic about the opening of a new baby room to take children from birth to 2 years of age. This room is a lovely comfortable space for our new younger children and we are getting it ready right now for use after Christmas’. Pictures will follow very soon!
The nursery will also be moving to operating all year from January 2022 (only closing over the Christmas break). ‘This is to provide a service for parents/carers who may need the nursery all year round’ explains First Steps Company Deputy Manager Sarah Mercer. ‘We recognise that this will be helpful for some.’ The nursery will still offer funded places, which will be in term-time, with the option to add on for the school holidays if required.
Since the nursery opened in March 2020, this expansion is a natural progression. First Steps Managing Director and Nominated Person for the company Ian Merrison explains ‘we had this expansion in mind, but we wanted to establish the nursery first. This seems the right time to do this and we can’t wait for it to happen.’ The nursery operates on the site of Hatton Hill Primary School and the school and the nursery operate closely together in partnership.
