Level 3 Early Years Practitioner (1 position); based in Farnborough Road Infants School in Southport, £19,650 pro-rata (£10.46 per hour); 20 hours per week term-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner  to work in a two-year-old nursery room!

Farnborough Road Infants School in Birkdale, Southport has been successfully running a 2-year old Nursery provision, Caterpillars, for nearly seven years.  We are looking for a dynamic, motivated professional to lead the setting’s morning Nursery sessions.   An early years/childcare qualification at level 3 will be required

The post is to start in early September 2022 (either 1st or 4th – to be confirmed)

The successful candidates would:

  • Lead the nursery sessions in the two-year-old setting, delivering high quality early years care in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, promoting parent & child interaction and the development of the child.
  • Work with the school’s Headteacher and Early Years Leader to ensure compliance with all regulations and recommendations determined by OFSTED via the Early Years Foundation Stage and Every Child Matters in matters relating to the required standards, inspection and other associated issues.
  • To ensure parents/carers and children are welcomed in a professional manner, to carry out registration and reception duties
  • Ensure the preparation and delivery of creative play opportunities in a safe and caring environment.

It is important that the appointed person complements our existing highly professional team. Applicants should be appropriately qualified and have relevant skills and experience.

The successful candidate should have at least a Level 3 Early Years qualification, have a good experience working in a school environment, ideally in the Early Years, and a good understanding and knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), plus two references, and right to work in the United Kingdom.

Hours: 

8.30am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday, term-time.  We may ask you to work occasional additional hours if needed
