Early Years Practitioner (School Nursery) Level 3
£22,369 Pro-Rata (actual £17,075 with leave allowance); 32.5 hour per week, term-time; Based in Lydiate Primary School
An excellent opportunity to make a positive difference to lives of children in Lydiate Primary School for, we are looking for an Early Years Practitioner (Level 3) (EYP) to work in the school nursery class!
The purpose of the role is to work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction/instruction of teaching and/or senior staff in the school nursery class, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all pupils and assistance and support in nursery classroom management and behaviour techniques and providing specialist support in a specific curricula/resource area.
During May 2021, the school received the exciting news that it had been being awarded a Quality Mark for Early Years provision. Based in the nursery class in the school, the EYP will work with and supervise individuals and groups of children as directed by the class teacher or senior school management.
You will need to hold a Level 3 in an Early Years qualficaiton as outlined on the government’s qualification list (see Early years qualifications achieved in the United Kingdom – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). Suitable qualifications on this list include:
- Level 3 Diploma in an Early Years qualification (at least)
- T Level in Education and Childcare
- We would also welcome Cert Ed and PGCE qualified teachers with Early Years status
You must have very good experience and skills working with an Early Years/Education setting, have an excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, a very good understanding of child development, and work well in a team to fully support the Early Years Teacher.
The position commences 4th September 2023 or as soon after as possible and is initially for one year, with possible extension beyond this.
Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), plus two references, and right to work in the United Kingdom.
