Early Years Activities & Outreach Worker; 35 hours per week*; £18,887 per annum; 35 hours per week; fixed-term initially until 31st March 2023

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and committed Early Years Activities & Outreach Worker, based in Tuebrook, West Derby and Yew Tree Children’s Centre in Liverpool, Merseyside.  A short 50 second video is here:

The successful candidate will support a range of Early Learning Activities and undertake outreach work in the community.  Key aims of the role are:

  • To support in the delivery of Early Learning Groups (such as All about Baby, Stay and Play, Speech & Language groups, Messy Play, physical activity sessions, and others), which provide opportunities to promote Children’s learning and development alongside their Parent/Carer.
  • To improve EYFS outcomes by encouraging reach area families to take up services which meet and address families’ specific needs (with a focus on the most vulnerable families).
  • To increase the number of families registered with the Children Centre who live in the local area.
  • To promote Children Centre services and increase the number of Children and Families attending Children Centre services.
  • To contact families living in more disadvantaged areas, identify support and signpost to appropriate Children Centre Services.
  • To assist with other activities with children and families in the children’s centre as directed

The successful candidate will be required to hold at least a level 2/equivalent qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or higher).  They will have experience of, or demonstrate the ability, to support Early Learning Groups.  They will be able to deliver outreach services which encourages people to access services.  Being a ‘people person’  and being able to actively promote the centre and its services is vital. Motivation is essential. An enhanced DBS will be undertaken. The role is based in Tuebrook, West Derby and Yew Tree Children’s Centre.
